My Students

Telling time, and the ability to use it in a practical sense, is a real world skill that I want my students to fully understand.

My classroom consists of 24 second grade students that are bright, curious about the world around them, and eager to learn.

The school they attend promotes life-long learning through enrichment and differentiated instruction. They are highly motivated and always ready for a challenge.

My Project

The class set of gear clocks will assist with the students' ability to tell time from an analog clock by allowing them the freedom to move the minute hand for a better understanding of how the hour and minute hand work in telling time. These clocks are great for individual practice as well as partner activities to practice elapsed time.

The clocks will provide hands-on practice as we cover the Math standards including: telling and writing time from an analog clock, representing time in five minute increments as well as knowing relationship of time such as minutes in an hour.

Having the ability to handle their own, individual clocks will promote curiosity and discovery.
