Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Experiential, hands-on, authentic learning. Students need to be constantly asking their own questions and finding the answers. I seek to make my classroom a rich, exciting, educational environment where students are always exploring and having new experiences.

We have a very small school which lends itself to a close-knit environment.

Although many of our students are at a low academic level, they are extremely eager to learn and have new experiences. We believe that our students need to be exposed to many different things in order to have a well-rounded education.

My Project

Science is a verb. Through experiments, students retain the information at a much deeper level than reading out of a textbook. They ask questions and then need to use the scientific method to draw a conclusion. Experiments engage the students in a way that teacher led instruction does not.

These donations will help to enrich our science classroom by providing the students with rich experiments.

When school budgets are tight, one of the things to go is extra materials for science experiments. With the added value being placed on literacy and math today, it is important that we remember the importance of developing scientists in our classrooms.
