My Students

Hardworking, determined, persistent, intelligent, artistic, talented, kind while also underprivileged, minorities, English language learners, first generation to graduate economically disadvantaged high school seniors! The 2020 graduating seniors deserve something extra, something special, to help ease the pain of a virtual graduation ceremony.

My Project

High School graduation, what a fun, exciting and magical time! senior lunch, senior trip, senior awards night, senior prom and GRADUATION! You wear your cap and gown, walk across the stage, get your diploma and make yourself and all of your family and friends so very proud! Senior year will go down as one of the best of your life, one whose happy memories will play over and over in your mind.... .unless you are a part of the graduating class of 2020!

As a 2020 high school graduate you missed out on most, if not all of those all important milestones and memory making events.

You were cheated, robbed, short changed. You most likely left school one day in mid-March, not knowing it would be the last time you were ever in your school. No yearbooks signed, no pictures taken, no hugs from your friends or teachers- it was just over.

The seniors from my high school, a Title I high school in South Queens, deserve better than that. They deserve to be recognized and celebrated! and my project will help do just that. The graduation committee for my school has decided that a swag bag needs to be given to each senior along with their diploma. While we have some school gear ready to go, how awesome would a memorable key chain be? The chain I chose represents the fact that each senior is the owner of their own destiny. They have their own key to success for their future! In addition, a fun, cute, and inspirational bracelet makes a great accessory for all!

My students have shown incredible grace, resolve, fortitude and determination during these unprecedented times and I would love to give them something tangible and real that they can hold onto.
