Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting a class set of the book called "The Lemonade Crime". We will use these books during a read-aloud. We will go over target vocabulary words, talk about literature texts, and events in the text that cause the story to take turn it does, and compare it to "The Lemonade War" text we are already done reading.

My class is a blend of nationalities, English language learners, students with special needs, as well as a wide range of different learning levels.

My students learn best when they have a vast variety of choices when it comes to books.

For some, their only exposure to literature is in school so I want to introduce them to whatever novels I can. I know that they would enjoy studying a novel like Lemonade Crime. Lemonade Crime is such an engaging story. The novel captures the one-of-a-kind bond between brother and sister, and also subtly explores how arguments can escalate beyond anyone's intent. A major theme of The Lemonade War is effective business practices. Both Evan and Jessie experiment with different strategies, learning from their mistakes and capitalizing on their successes. My class can;s wait to read "The Lemonade Crime". We will focus on literacy and math skills. Thank you for considering to donate to this project.
