Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school community is filled with the leaders of tomorrow.
They are kind, loving, and most importantly hard-workers who respect each others differences.
I want to give students the opportunity to share their academic success with an end of the year class celebration.
My students come from families with different backgrounds. We are located in a very diverse community in which most people are non-English speaking natives. Through our instilled sense of community, we share a common value of building lifelong learners.
My Project
My students need the opportunity to celebrate their academic success with an end of year celebration to reflect on and articulate what they have learned, and how they learned. This experience will allow them to better identify their strengths and weaknesses. Kids love parties, which is why celebrating serves as a tool for building a connection to the importance of learning. In addition to reflecting and connecting, students will be able to ask questions about their learning allowing them to understand how ideas and knowledge change as they develop. Our classroom provides the perfect setting to capitalize on the learning success of all students, which can influence their perspectives about school. We would like to have some of their favorite party snacks such as Doritos, rice krispies, and caprisun drinks.
