My Students

All teachers are "special"; special education teachers have extra special needs for their students. My students aren't conventional learners. I teach a variety of students with a variety of different learning disabilities. Some verbal, some non-verbal, but not being able to speak is not the same as not having anything to say! It is important to understand each individual and how differently each learns. I create personalized lesson plans assessing the needs of each individual so each student can thrive and reach their maximum growth potential.

My Project

Our students love to play with kinetic sand! We would love for our students to work on their fine motor skills, while having fun learning about our natural environment. With the following sensory materials, our students can practice colors, labeling, requesting, counting, matching, patterning, and much more. Students will play cooperatively, learn to follow directions, share, and engage in unlimited activities, while strengthening their academic, fine-motor, and language skills. The play dirt bucket will allow the kids to play in the dirt without getting dirty! Our students can dig, mold, bury, and plant all without making a mess! Thank you for helping our students learn and have fun!
