My Students

I am an AIS teacher located in the New York City. I teach eager kindergarten, first, second, and third grade children who are struggling readers and writers. My students are devoted to learning, but need a different approach toward their education. They need small group instruction that uses many types of manipulatives.

When my children are successful, the look of wonder in their eyes is a sight to behold.

It is truly what makes being a teacher the best job in the world.

My Project

Imagine being six years old and being extremely proud of your work. It is such amazing work that it is displayed for your classmates to view. Now imagine that work being ruined by curious hands touching it.

My students are hard workers who produce a tremendous amount of work.

Fortunately, they are very confident and love to "show off" their writing and drawing. But there is a small problem. Their work keeps getting destroyed by well meaning children.

A perfect solution to this problem is a laminator machine. This machine will allow my kids to protect their work while it is on display. Instead of wiping tears I will be seeing great big grins. Plus, as an added bonus, my children will be able to create portfolios to showcase their special work. We also need a paper trimmer to make our work neater.

There is not anything better in this world than watching children succeed and be happy.
