Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I work with a variety of students at all different academic levels. We have energetic and thoughtful learners in our school. Over 94% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Many of our students are involved in extracurricular activities like basketball, track and field, theater, chess club, and garden club. These activities allow our students to have a creative and physical outlet as well as develop their character for the classroom. Creating a positive school culture is essential to academic success.

My Project

I am requesting books on leadership, positive recognition, collaboration, and professional development to positively impact the climate of our school. As a member of the school leadership team, I provide training to colleagues. Creating a positive environment for learning is crucial not only to students, but to staff as well.

Teachers set the standard for how students think and act.

When students see that their teachers are positive and valued members of the community the culture of the classroom is set up for success. Our leadership team wants to create a professional environment where teachers look forward to Monday morning. A successful school culture and climate is a place where students and staff are inspired to teach and learn.
