Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students consist of a diverse group of learners, with different learning styles and needs. Most of them have come to America with their families in order to pursue the freedom we offer, and most importantly, a great education. They have been taught, that here in America, they can become whatever they aspire to be. That's what I want to offer them.

My 5th grade female students are a wonderful reflection of diversity and are inspirational in their desire to learn all about STEM!

They take it upon themselves to put on presentations where they report on new discoveries in Science, often sharing their views and ideas with their classmates.

My Project

This year, the female students in my class are motivated in learning all about STEM. Introducing women, through Literature, that have made a difference in the area of STEM will inspire my girls to go above and beyond their classroom learning. The Go Pro Camera will be the Technology tool they will use to capture their observations of Science, Engineering and Math in the real world. The Celestron Telescopes will be used to observe the night sky in all of it's wonder!

Imagine a world where girls can aspire in becoming our future STEM leaders, making new discoveries, exploring their world, the universe and beyond, sharing new ideas and inventions that will make life easier for all, and changing the way we think about Science!

Though we live in the 21st century, we still have a lot of work to do in changing the perception we have regarding careers in STEM. These materials will help my girls discover their own talents and, hopefully, inspire them to seek a future in a STEM career.
