My Students

My 3rd grade ICT class is made up of 32 unique students who are eager to learn. My students walk into the classroom bringing diverse styles of learning and abilities. I want to enhance their learning experiences in the classroom by providing them with the technological tools and knowledge to be successful in this high-tech society we live in. Our class walls do not limit our learning!

My students have diverse learning abilities and it is my goal to provide them with the best support to spark their interests and strengths in all they can do.

My Project

All of my students want to be able to pick up a chapter book or popular series and discuss it with their classmates, especially when you're in the 3rd grade. However, for some of my students, that isn't an option and they often feel left out or embarrassed holding a lower level reading book. Before the pandemic hit and schools had to transfer to remote learning, I was working with a targeted group of struggling readers using a reading intervention program SPIRE. The program was working and my reluctant readers were seen engaged in a book during independent reading time, where in the past they were not.

This pandemic is taking a toll on everyone but I do not want it to take a toll on my students education.

Reading is the best escape and every child should have the opportunity to experience that.

With the iSPIRE subscription I can continue to help my struggling readers become stronger readers and give them a fighting chance when we head back to school in September.
