Isn't Reading Fast, The Same as Reading Comprehension?

My students need a book of daily warm-up reading comprehension passages, a set of reading comprehension books that helps them with understanding the main idea and sequence, and a set of reading comprehension cards that they can use while they work independently.

I am a second grade teacher in a low-income school. I teach multiple subjects to a class of English Language Learners. Aside from my English language learners, I have two students who are mainstreaming from a special education class to a regular education class.

Because my students are all English Language Learners, the skill of reading comprehension does not come to them easily.They have a hard enough time trying to understand the language, now they have to read and understand. This is very difficult task for them; however, they are very interested in learning this skill. For this reason, I am asking for the resources to help my students overcome the obstacle they are faced with.

With the reading comprehension resources that I am requesting, I will be able to help my students in class and after school. I will be able to help them improve reading comprehension, or even better, master the skills. It will be great to see their end of the year results once they have been able to practice the skill and understand it. I am sure they will do so much better with the resources than without them. Please help my students overcome this barrier and give them the resources that will make a life long impact.

The look on their faces and my face after we are able to see the difference before and after using these resources will be priceless. I am one hundred percent sure that these resources will give them the extra push they need in order to excel in the area of reading comprehension.
