Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Walt Disney once said, "If you can dream it, you can do it" and that is our class motto in the art room.

We are a small school in South Florida, with a great big heart.

We are in a middle to low class neighborhood that was hit pretty bad by the economy a few years ago. Our students have an insatiable thirst for knowledge and adventure. They are driven and creative beyond words. In the art room many find an outlet where they are able to express themselves in ways they are unable to in their general education classrooms. As their art teacher, I try to encourage them and quench their thirst for knowledge.

My Project

The iPads will be used in a variety of ways. The iPads will be used as reference tool where students may use the Internet to investigate any of the topics we are working on in class. They may use it to take virtual field trips to museums around the world and view masters works of art in detail. Different art applications such as Layers, Bamboo Paper, Adobe Ideas, and Aryun Ink just to name a few will be downloaded into the iPads to enhance their learning in the art room. These applications on the iPad will allow the students to virtually work with mediums that they might otherwise not have a chance to do so. The possibilities for the iPads in class are endless. The iPads will be a great addition to our art room bridging the technology gap as we speed through the twenty-first century.

The iPads in our classroom will make infinite many meaningful learning experiences that the children will cherish for years to come.

It will give many of our students the possibilities to be exposed to technology that they otherwise may not have the opportunity to experience in their homes. It will allow them to see and draw the world!
