My Students

“Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.” – Carl Sagan. Many students in my school face many socioeconomic challenges including many single parent families. The iPads would give them the chance to face the technology shaped future with a smile and confidence.

My students are a diverse group and my class is also an autistic inclusion classroom.

I have 25 students, with 2 that are on the autistic spectrum and two that have physical disabilities.They have worked hard building their cooperative learning skills and learning respect for their similarities and differences. My Kindergarten students are wonderful and have many unique qualities, but also have much they are striving to fulfill in life both academically and socially. I currently have 25 students and out of the 25, 4 students are AU (Autistic) and another 2 have motor skill disabilities. In spite of any challenge, they want to learn and try so hard each day. Our school is in a lower income area and many students do not have access to technology. I have very unique students who have a range of learning issues that can be helped through technology. As my students get older and move through the higher grade levels, I want them to be prepared for the world of technology.

My Project

My students face many challenges and hardships from their environment. Despite some of the challenges they may face they come to school each and every day ready to learn. Keeping students actively engaged can sometimes be challenging and students often lose interest in learning. You can help change their minds about learning. With the iPads in the classroom, students will be exposed to online books, the use of educational apps, learn how to take pictures and describe what they took a picture of, and even use it as an online resource. Your wonderful donation can help inspire my students to be achievers.

The iPads will allow students the use of technology that they do not always have at home.

It's important to expose children to new technology to make sure they are ready for the future. It can be difficult to keep all my students engaged in their learning. With this technology, I can continue to connect with all my students and keep them interested in learning.
