Our students are from a very rural area, in a town of about 800 people. Most of them eat at least two meals a day at school. We now offer breakfast in the classroom to every student through a state funded program because of the lower income of most students. We've found it helps to keep our attendance more regular and our students more engaged. Fully bellies are always a good thing.
Our students are bright and eager to learn.
They appreciate the effort and time their teachers take to create vibrant lessons, as well as the supplies and experiences they are provided with each year.
My Project
Having a class set of iPads in my classroom will be as effective as having multiple adults in the room helping me teach. I will be able to flip my teaching so students have access to "me" whenever they need me, even if I'm busy.
I can audio record each week's spelling list, provide apps to help my students practice and study vocabulary words, teach individual math lessons and concepts, provide safe websites for research, and read to each of them.
It's like multiplying myself.
Our school and community are working together to improve our Internet quality. My hope is to have my classroom set up and ready to implement technology that my students will be comfortable using and provide them with skills that they will need to be lifelong learners in an ever-changing world.
I set my first goal for enough iPads for half of my students to have an iPad while others were working on other projects. After doing some research on technology used in education and the resources available, my new goal is to make my classroom a 1:1 iPad class. I need 4 more iPad Minis to complete this goal. Thank you to our previous donors and our future donors. You are helping our classroom to be an exciting and modern learning environment.
