My Students

Phil Campbell Elementary School is located in Phil Campbell, Alabama. Phil Campbell is a small town in the northwest corner of the state with a population of approximately 1,100. In 2011, our small town was hit by a devastating tornado. Most homes and businesses were rebuilt including our high school.

My class consists of 15 sweet, spirited, active, funny second graders.

They are inquisitive and excited to learn new things. Recently we have enjoyed reading chapter books, learning to write in cursive, and telling time. We also love to get out of our seats to do STEM projects and occasional brain breaks.

My Project

Currently, my classroom only has one iPad. Students use the iPad for taking AR tests and researching topics. My goal is to eventually have enough iPads for each student in my classroom. We are going to start by adding two at a time. Additional iPads will mean more than one student at time can be taking tests and looking up information during center time. We can also use them for small group and playing games like Kahoot! I am excited to add to the technology available to my students.
