Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students have the ability to see solutions in the world. They are exposed to other cultures, music, history and time. Developing STEAM skills by combining technology and the arts is an incredibly way for my students to develop creativity, entrepreneurial skills and broadening their view of the world. They will learn to curate music but they need the equipment to learn the skills. We need a classroom set of iPads to access the music software.

My goals are for students to apply technology with the arts through the DJ curation process.

There is a set curriculum (books through Hal Leonard) and software application where students will go through the course and eventually apply their learning through real projects (ie DJing school dance, back to school/Open House, and potentially community events and nursing homes.)

My students are special because many are second language learners. They can learn then apply their learning quickly because they'll be able to leverage what they already know and understand apply it to new information. Each student is an individual and their individuality will get to shine in this course.
