My Students

I work in a Special Education District in Staten Island, New York. My school is strictly for special needs students with various disabilities. Many of our students come for low poverty households. I have worked with 1st and 2nd grade students for the passed 12 years and I love watching them learn new things.

My students are always so eager to learn and ask questions to figure things out.

Students leave my classroom with love a learning. It is so thrilling to see students as they work independently and solve problems. Our students love to experience school and what it has to offer especially if they do not have much at home.

My Project

Students will be able to use these iPads to use many of our online programs. This will help foster learning and allow students to learn in a different way. There are only two classroom computers which are outdated and difficult for students to use when they have fine motor concerns. These iPads will allow students to research and learn right at their finger tips.

Students can use them in all areas, such as research for writing pieces, reading stories, and even taking pictures to add to our Class Dojo.

We are living in such a technological world and our students do not come from households which have these advanced technologies. If we allow students to have access to these items in school, and learn how they work, it will be an easier transition as they continue to move throughout the school system.
