My Students

Our class is made up of 8 kindergarten students with Autism. They are trying to navigate learning remotely and in-person in a new school during a pandemic.

We have a unique group of English Language Learners who learn best through a variety of modalities-- tactile, kinesthetic, visual and auditory.

Most of the students in our class come from low-income households. Many of them do not have access to technology at home.

My Project

Technology is an immense motivator for students with Autism. In a time where hands-on learning isn't always available, iPads allow students access to lessons and materials they may not have at home.

Our students have had to switch between remote and in-person learning multiple times already this school year with no end in sight.

These 8 iPads will allow our students to seamlessly transition between these forms of learning.

Our students would benefit from a variety of educational applications. Raz-Kids is a self-paced reading program which provides fiction and non-fiction books as well as comprehension activities for young learners. SplashLearn is an app that teaches math skills in a fun and interactive way.

A class set of iPads would allow our students to access these programs in school and at home.
