This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are inner-city kids that are eager to read books that bring about more inclusivity. They are in a special education classroom of an 8:1 ratio. They like to read books that are relatable to their life and experiences.

My Project

These iPads and Apple Pencil will allow my students to further their learning by actively participating in lessons. The era of pen and paper are gone. Children are now actively stimulated through the use of technology even we as adults struggle with this. I want to use these iPads to create interactive lessons on sites such as Kahoot and Nearpod. The iPads will also assist in group work and doing engaging activities. My students struggle with working in teams.

Due to the effects of the pandemic, we are no longer able to have recess outside of the classroom.

I would like to use the iPads to keep them engaged and give them free time. The computers in our classroom are very old and no longer work. We've tried to have them replaced but it's been a waiting game. My students come from urban neighborhoods and lack access to certain resources. As an educator, I would like to provide them with the best opportunity to succeed.
