My Project

Our school district has decided to recycle the iPads currently in our classrooms, and unfortunately, there is no plan to replace them. This has left our 3rd-grade class without a vital tool for enhancing 21st-century skills. I am requesting a set of iPads to introduce my students to the basics of coding every Friday, preparing them for a tech-driven future while fostering creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

iPads are more than just devices; they are gateways to engaging, hands-on learning experiences.

With iPads and robots like Dash and Dot, my students will access beginner-friendly coding apps such as ScratchJr, Swift Playgrounds, and Tynker, making coding fun and interactive. They will develop problem-solving skills by creating animations, games, and programs, fostering creativity, logical thinking, and confidence in technology. Weekly coding sessions will equip them with foundational STEM skills, including computational thinking, perseverance, and teamwork while addressing diverse learning needs.

As part of a gifted magnet program, my students have unique intellectual and creative abilities, representing cultures from around the globe. Their curiosity, resilience, and diverse perspectives create a vibrant, inclusive learning environment. Providing opportunities to engage deeply with coding and technology is essential to nurturing their talents and preparing them for an interconnected world.

As an Apple Distinguished Educator and Colorado Teacher of the Year finalist, I understand technology's transformative power in education. These iPads will inspire my students’ lifelong love of learning and discovery.
