Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I believe that early childhood is a time to foster a love of learning in children. My students are always curious and eager to learn. They benefit from hands-on learning experiences but are also fascinated by technology. Since March of last year, my students and I were forced to figure out how to stay connected and reach their academic needs remotely. Every day, I look forward to the conversations that I have with my students whether in person or remotely. The students in my classroom have been hit hard by the current pandemic. Most, if not all, of my students live in apartments with their extended families, leaving them little space for themselves. My hope is that when they are able to connect with me remotely, they look forward to it and feel of sense of relief and stress-free for the few hours we are on live together.

My Project

As we begin this new chapter of remote learning and hybrid model in the NYC Public schools, I plan to use the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil to aid in student engagement and creation of interactive and exciting lessons. This year, I am teaching multiple grades, and I will be meeting with 100 students throughout the week remotely, and want to be able to reach each and every students' learning needs to the best of my ability. These materials will allow me to create google slides with ease and record read alouds to post for my students. The Apple Pencil will allow me to markup lessons by adding words, labels, notes, and visual supports in my own handwriting. It is the perfect tool to teaching young readers and writers how to improve their work. Providing my students with these models will allow me to support them when they are applying the skills they are learning in our reading and writing program, Fundations. This paired with my virtual classroom, will support my students in an engaging, creative, and technology forward way. My students and I thank you so much for your support!
