My Students

My students are multi cultural and are different in so many ways but then yet again so similar. I am the Special Education resource room teacher who assists special needs students on their difficulty accessing the least restrictive environment (general education classroom).

At times, they just require a listening ear, compassion and other times they need to sharpen their skills to compete with their peers.

My classroom was a safe place to "let their hair down" and shoot for the stars but unfortunately, our school has closed due to COVID - 19, therefore, today remote learning is the NEW way we learn.

My Project

I have finally figured out a way to maximize my students education. When remote learning was the new way to teach I had ALOT of learning to do. My students learned how to navigate through google classroom much faster than myself, therefore, they were MY teachers for awhile. I have a desktop computer without a touch screen. This made it almost impossible to edit, revise and provide handwritten feedback to my students (personal touch). After many days of struggles with the remote world I have discovered my solution, an iPad plus a pencil. This is such a teaching victory for myself and my students!!
