Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This summer my students will continue to participate in distance learning due to the pandemic and school closures. Students in the National Honor Society will be volunteering their services in order to provide support to students this summer via distance learning and the technology tools requested in this project will enhance each tutor's ability to explain problem-solving strategies step by step.

My Project

I am the advisor for our school's National Honor Society chapter. My students established our schools' peer tutoring program and this year my students have taken these services online via zoom. I want to make an iPad available to each of my tutors in order to facilitate the use of whiteboard applications to explain step-by-step problem-solving solutions. Students will continue to offer tutoring services during the summer and also during the school year. My goal is for students to learn how to use digital tools to support their peers and further develop our schools' tutoring program.
