This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We live in a technological world. Information is obtained with the touch of a finger. Why not have it in the classroom also? An iPad is an excellent tool to help students learn.

My third graders are energetic, kind, and motivated children eager to learn.

They attend a high needs school in the Big Apple. This is my eighth year teaching at this school. I teach an average of 30 students each year. My students come from an area that was highly impacted by hurricane Sandy. Most of my students were without heat, water, power and food for many days. My classroom is in desperate need of technology.

My Project

I am requesting an iPad to help reinforce reading, writing, and math skills. The iPad will help my students learn how to use technology as a means to learning. The iPad applications will also help my students continue to get ready for the state tests that they will be taking, for the very first time, in a couple of months.

Third grade is a crucial year.

In third grade, students are becoming more sophisticated readers, writers, mathematicians, and thinkers. They are eager to share their thoughts, comments, and questions with classmates. They are surrounded with technology all around them. Why not in their second home- the classroom?
