Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work in numerous schools with deaf and hard of hearing students who are mainstreamed. In a mainstream classroom they receive the same curriculum as hearing peers.

Due to their hearing loss they need to work twice as hard, but all they need is an opportunity to develop their skills with the right tools.

The work my students do with me outside of the classroom helps support them in the classroom. They are noticeably more engaged and willing to work when they are given an opportunity to work with technology. An Apple iPad and pencil will help increase the desire to learn through interactive books, activities and games for the wide range of ages and abilities I teach.
