Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are sixth graders in a middle school. I love that many of my students come to learn each day regardless of the tough circumstances they are dealing with at home. The pandemic has made their tough circumstances worse. My students are mostly from low income families where English is a second language. I have students mandated for special education services and ENL/ESL services. My school has had a title 1 designation most of the years I have worked here.

My students are full of imagination and curiosity.

The questions my students pepper my lessons with spur our learning each and every day. My mandated service students always seem to grow as students and individuals each time we do a STEM project.I hope our project will harness the imagination and curiosity of my students.

My Project

An iPad is the perfect tool for teaching STEM topics such as narrative procedures, coding, design thinking, analyzing and creating. My school is new to STEM and the students are eager to partake in various STEM projects.

I would like to give my students the optimal experience learning new material which will help them be critical thinkers, design content, and animate their assignments.

As a senior teacher, I am always looking to improve my teaching. I believe an iPad will enhance my students learning experience and help us all grow as learners.
