This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 36 Pre-K students love technology! They're little, but they are truly fascinated with the latest technology that is out there.

My Pre-K class is comprised of 36 students.

It is split into a morning class and an afternoon class. Our school is a Title I school, and most of my students live in a low income area and the majority of them live in non-English speaking households. They are all very eager to learn and at this age love school! Some of them are quick to learn new material, but some seem to be struggling in mastering basic skills.

My Project

The iPad minis would be used to enhance the language arts, math, and science skills that my students will be learning this year. They would be using the iPad minis during small group instruction or during independent centers. My students are learning how to write letters and there are many great apps that will assist them in practicing the proper formation of the letters and the sounds. There are also apps for number sense that make learning fun and interesting. The iPad minis would also help my students learn about science topics that are being covered in the classroom!

Having technology available to my students during small group instruction would really help my struggling students as well as my high achieving students because each student will be able to work at his or her own level.

The iPad minis would be a great asset to the classroom because they would be able to use them during independent centers as well. If they feel like practicing patterns, they can! If other students feel like practicing letters, they can!
