My Students

I am blessed to teach an incredible group of kids each year! These kids continually amaze me, year to year, despite the learning challenges they face daily. They are smart, caring, and hardworking! When I tell you they are incredible, that is an understatement! The majority of my sweet students struggle to learn, but refuse to give up! Our school is located in a low income area, where all of the students qualify for free meals.

My students will now start another school year with distance learning.

This is not an easy pill to swallow considering their diverse learning obstacles. My hope is to still be able to build a family with my students even though they are not physically with me. They know that in our class, they will learn even though it may look less traditional than most would imagine. I consider my students family, and we will continue to work diligently together to maintain this feeling in my classroom.

My Project

Our Title I school serves students in grades Pre K-5 and provides rigorous academics to allow students to advance and excel as they are our future leaders. Our students are college bound despite the hardships they face daily. My current 4th grade students all have different learning styles and can benefit from many accommodations and supports. My students are resilient and enjoy learning wherever it takes place.

While still at home due to COVID, I will use the iPad to enhance their at home learning via zoom.

Not only will it be helpful to have a second screen while teaching, an iPad can also be used in place of a document camera!
