My Students

The students I work with at our school can be described as eager to learn through active experience, but may come to me with a lack of background knowledge or experiences. They are best motivated to become active in class activities when they are given opportunities to work with concrete examples versus abstract materials. This is why having materials for them to manipulate is so important!

The area my students come from is a rural, close knit community.

Many of them live within walking distance of the school. Many of their parents may have even attended the very same school when they were children.

This demonstrates that the heritage in this community is strong, and loyal. It also demonstrates that many of my students do not travel far from home. I want to give them the world to explore, right from my classroom! Thanks for partnering with me in this endeavor.

My Project

I am asking for help in providing an iPad for my 5th grade class. We will use this device in so many ways! I will lead my students to do research, work through engineering tasks, create and develop digital products, and share within our classroom community.

This iPad is going to give my students who need more instruction or intervention, an extra dip in curriculum they may be struggling in.

With your help, my students will have an even more engaging learning experience, which will take them farther than a single, non-tech lesson can, allowing them to take leadership in their education.
