My Project

My students are in the Head Start program Pre-K 4 class. We are a Title I school, with over 97% of our students qualifying for free breakfast and lunch. To promote academics our district has invested in a research-based, highly effective Pre-K program called Waterford Early Learning. I am asking for one additional iPad tablet with a protective case for clumsy little hands that can be sent home on a rotating basis for some of the students who need the most assistance learning. Our class also works on social skills, communication skills, fine motor, gross motor skills, self-help skills and so much more in our everyday routines.

My students face many challenges, but that doesn't impede them from wanting to learn or stop them from dreaming big.

The goal of the Head Start program is to give at-risk children all across our Nation a fair chance at succeeding in the educational system. This is especially needed in the community of Liberty City where our school is located.
