My Students

My students have autism, learning and language disabilities, and emotional disabilities. Some are from lower economic homes. They come to school every day and are eager to learn. Many of them have sensory issues and require many different therapies throughout their day. These include OT, PT, counseling, and speech. They are talented and enjoy life each and every day. The face challenges that they seem to overcome with persistence. They face new challenges with a smile and joy for life's journey.

My Project

Use of the iPad will act as a model and assist in enhancing learning through research and navigation. The students love learning through technology and will be able to easily access the internet within small group lessons and discussions without having a big computer on the table. They’ll be able to explore information, communication apps, be reinforced for positive behaviors and so much more. They will be encouraged to learn and focus with fun technology that they are all accustomed to. The students will be able to participate in groups and work on team activities in so many ways.
