Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As an Ethnic Studies and Health teacher Racial Justice is a topic that permeates through both curriculums. Within the Ethnic Studies class we explore topics of bias, prejudice and of course racism and the impact on modern society. Within Health we explore the role environmental racism has on students within the community we are in and our collective racial groups. Throughout both classes we talk about the role that social and racial justice plays in our society, the political and social implications that exist as a result.
The iPad would be an amazing asset to both of our classes.
It will give students the opportunity to explore topics independently and visit interactive sites that usually are not as easy to navigate on a laptop or desktop. The ability to have FaceTime calls with current activist and how their work is impacting society today will also be an amazing bonus.
