My Students

My students come from a variety of different backgrounds. It is an ethnically diverse population. Students speak a multitude of different languages such as Mandarin, Cantonese,Hindi,Urdu, Bengali, and Arabic. Over 75 percent of my students come from low income households with single family homes. Despite their challenges they all come to school eager to learn daily. They are inquisitive, creative, and thrive to do their best. Our school is using STEM activities to get the students ready for the 21 st century.

My Project

How do you prepare students for the 21 st century? There is no better way; than with an Ipad for them to experience the technology piece of STEM. An iPad for STEM is integral because it supports the whole learning journey. My students will use the iPad to explore apps that reinforce science concepts, gather and compare data, conduct research, record videos, take photos, and communicate learning. Students will capture physical phenomena in the world around them. With the help of an iPad and the variety of apps I can get the students hooked on STEM, no matter the age. We will use the built in features of an iPad for a telescope, a book, a sketch pad, and the list goes on.
