My Students

I want to teach my students how technology can be used to support and enhance health and fitness. With an Ipad I will be able to show them all the different fitness and health apps. My students learn about convectional and more unique sports (netball, ultimate, handball).

I teach Physical Education to over 300 students grade 9-12.

My students are ethnically diverse and very interested in the newest technology. Our school is an inner city school, we receive students from all the surrounding areas. Our school is vibrant and a great learning community.

My Project

Being able to use technology in Physical Education will allow my students to have a better understanding of the uses of the new gadgets. I want to use the Ipad to project lessons on the board before going to exercise, to explain and correct specific techniques, to talk and visualize tactics, to learn about the human body and its parts, to watch interesting videos about sports and athletics. As a PE teacher I change location often (Gym, pool, field, tennis courts, etc), I can use the Ipad to maintain an accurate attendance and communicate with parents in a timely manner. As students get to class the sit down and take notes about the session that they are about to experience.

The majority of the students have smart phones and ipods, but lack the knowledge about getting the best out of it.

With an Ipad I will be able to teach them about all the possibilities they have to improve their health and fitness.
