My Students

My classroom is a place where young children explore music concepts. Our music class is filled with fun and enjoyment of making music using hand-held instruments, but music today is digital, and I would like my students to be able to express their ideas using modern technology.

My students come from low-income families and their parents struggle to pay for their every-day needs.

A majority of our students receive free or reduced lunches. Some of my students are English Language Learners and/or Special Education children. Adding iPad educational activities along with traditional behaviors will provide kids with exciting learning opportunities addressing needs of the students with specific styles.

My Project

Integrating technology in music classroom helps students to explore instruments digitally, practice reading music notation, compose songs, record performances, learn about music history, and much more. Imagine how enjoyable would it be reading notes with interactive colorful games like "Note Speller", or create beautiful harmonies using real-time pitch correction with effects like reverb and echo on "ImproVox!" Think how easy would it be for students to access to the world of music through the iTunes library! There are numerous ways to develop good music listening skills using iPad apps, exercises covering intervals, chords, scales and relative pitch that are essential for developing pitch accuracy, good intonation and sense of harmony.

Using an iPad, students would have access to numerous educational apps.

Using touch-screen interface students will be engaged easily and more interactively with the content. iPads' accessibility supports students with different types of learning. Learning through conventional means allows students to discover their true intellect and abilities.
