Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Kindergartners using an iPad mini? Yes, it can happen. Even though this is a kindergarten class, all students should be exposed to technology. My kindergarten students are learning English. Many of my students are still learning basic sight words and this will help them review them.

I work in a high poverty neighborhood.

Many of my students will be exposed for the first time to this kind of technology. They will be thrilled by working on a iPad mini in the classroom. My students will be learning content area materials, but they also will be learning how to use technology at a very young age. I really believe that children should be exposed to technology at a young age; therefore this will be a great way to use technology in the classroom. An iPad mini for my little ones would help them learn not only about technology, but also learn to read and write through many children's sites where they will be surfing.

My Project

Some of the activities for which my students would use the iPad mini include learning the sight words, and letter and sound recognition. There are also many interactive websites they will be able to visit to learn about math and social studies, as well as science. They will be able to interact and learn about technology at the same time.

With an iPad mini in the classroom, my students will be able to work in small groups.

I will be able to differentiate who needs reinforcement in letters and sound recognition, and they'll be able to review them on the iPad mini. Using technology is always fun and it will benefit my students in a very positive way.
