My Students

Children today are faced with an ever changing world of technology. Unfortunately, not all children are able to have access to all types of technology. In order to give each child an opportunity, we need this technology in the schools.

I am a kindergarten teacher with 24 enthusiastic students in my class.

About 80 percent of my students are on free or reduced lunch. All of my students are highly motivated to learn no matter what challenges they face at home or in their community. All the parents in my class want the best education for their child and they try to do the best they can.

My Project

Thanks to people like you and DonorsChoose.org I am able to bring technology into my classroom. My students love the two iPod Touches. I was able to buy and download many applications and also, get some free applications that are perfect for my kindergarten students. Now, I would love for them to have access to an iPad2. The iPad2 is another form of technology that is common place in today's society. But unfortunately, not everyone has the financial means to have one. So, I would love for my students to be able to use one in the classroom. The iPad2 will motivate them to learn. They think they are playing games and solving puzzles but they are learning many important skills. Probably all of my students have never used an iPad2 but it is amazing how fast they can learn. I will buy different applications and I will also use it to record them reading and they can learn to do it themselves. The iPad2 will help my students master the state standards in all academic areas.

I am determined to bring different forms of technology into my classroom.
