My Students

I am the School Guidance Counselor and Basketball Coach at a Title I elementary school in Brooklyn, NY. Our neighborhood school has a multitude of diverse students from many different cultures and backgrounds.

We recognize that technology is a powerful tool to reach many of my young men and women who are struggling to find their balance and purpose.

With the proper support I can, as their Guidance Counselor, help them achieve personal responsibility so they can succeed academically and socially.

With funding so limited in our school, technology supplies for Guidance are non-existent. I'm reaching out for help so I can get the materials my children need.

My Project

This requested Apple iPad Air 2 tablet will be used for a variety of guidance and teaching opportunities. Using the myriad of social-emotional apps, I can customize my time with each student as we explore what it takes to be happy and well-adjusted.

Many of my students respond to personalized time with me and if I can use a tablet for visual and compelling teaching scenarios I can be more effective.

Also, many of my students are English Language Learners who need a variety of visual props for understanding.

With your help, we can reach so many children through the use of technology because they have different learning styles.
