Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help my students become tech-savvy! Technology is a staple in today's society, although most of my students have limited access to computers and tablets outside our school's walls.

My students are in 6th, 7th and 8th grade attending public school in NYC!

They are all special education students receiving various types of services. Their academic and functional levels range from very high functioning to very low functioning. They all come to school everyday excited to learn and willing to work hard!

My Project

iPads offer students countless resources, tools, games and lesson enhancements that allow them to delve deeper into their academics and enhance the learning process. Technology today has developed numerous programs and applications that allow students (especially special education students) to practice skills and explore the world of learning on an entirely new level. Not only do iPads help students with their academics but they allow them to develop technological skills as well. Most of my students are not privileged enough to have a computer or tablet at home, so school is the place where they can use these materials to help them become productive citizens in our highly technological society.

145 will impact my students on so many levels! It will allow my students to become more independent when working, will present them with lesson opportunities and skill practice for all subject areas that they otherwise would not have, and will allow them to build their confidence with their academics and technology skills!
