This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year is my second year as the art teacher at my school. I want to inspire the children to explore different materials and create fantastic works of art, but I need art and teaching materials to do that.

I work in a school in Brooklyn that has over 900 students.

I work with children from Pre-K to fifth grade.

My students are amazing and they teach me something new every day. They are talented, curious, and they love to experiment and learn new techniques as they express their ideas through art.

My Project

My art students need a new iPad to utilize in the art room. They can greatly benefit from having access to resources, references, and video tutorials at their very own fingertips. Sometimes when students want to draw or build certain things, they like to see an image of it for inspiration. Since I am an "Art on a Cart" Art Teacher, having this mobile tablet will be a great accessory to have for students to access.

This year I have created an online school art gallery via the website ARTSONIA, and it would be a great tool for students to use to help manage it.

It will give my 900+ art students experience in taking photos and publishing their work to share with their families and friends in hopes of increasing parent engagement and student creativity! Thank you in advance!
