My Students

Imagine having a feeling that you are unable to express or ideas in your mind that you are unable to share. Imagine being stuck in a body that makes it impossible to zipper your jacket or sign your name to a greeting card.

We work with special needs students with a variety of disabling conditions such as Autism, Down's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy and Intellectual Disabilities among others.

They attend a separate school from their typically developing peers in order to better help them overcome the challenges they are facing in accessing the educational system.

My Project

Through the use of applications available on the iPad, our students will have the opportunity to bridge the gap between the potential that lies within them and what they are currently able to express. A student with autism will be able to express feelings of frustration without exhibiting maladaptive behaviors such as hitting or biting. The ipad will allow my students to express themselves appropriately with their peers.

By funding this project you will be giving dozens of special needs students the opportunity to use technology to maximize their learning potential.

Now they will be able to express themselves in ways that they otherwise wouldn't.
