My Students

My students are energetic and eager learners who love to read and strive every day to achieve academic success.

Our Title I school is located in Brooklyn's East New York and is considered high poverty with all students qualifying for free lunch.

Budgets being what they are, classroom supplies such as technology and hands-on materials are very limited.

My new 3rd grade Hybrid class consists of general education, ELL, and Students with IEPs who all come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds.

This year my goal is to better prepare my 3rd graders for independent learning and personal responsibility as we now work remotely. Having the right supplies and tools is critical to my success to reach my children no matter how far away they are.

My Project

Remote learning is proving very challenging and I realize that what I need is more technology teaching materials that can help mimic classroom learning activities. My third graders are mostly ESL who need more visual language guides and supports. Right now I can only write on a whiteboard when I need to help them read from texts and worksheets.

I'm requesting an iOCHOW document camera that will be used for our Google Meet lessons that are live and interactive.

This tool will help me better differentiate my instruction which will only help my students succeed and achieve even remotely!
