My students need totes so they can organize their writing materials and successfully carry them to the perfect writing spot. They also need small whiteboards.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Our school fosters a G-R-E-A-T approach to each day. This kindergarten classroom promises G-R-E-A-T opportunities for these students. These kindergartners show "G"rit to accomplish everything they want to achieve each day. They originate from a variety of backgrounds-socially, ethnically, and economically. Some students have been in daycare or preschool. Half of this class is enjoying their first experience away from home. Our class' sense of community promotes "R"espect for our friends as well as teachers. Our inclusive classroom encourages everyone to share their talents and teach each other. They have "E"mpathy in their hearts which challenges them to maintain their best while also encouraging those around them. "A"dventure is our goal each and every day. Without adventure, these students would not be motivated to reach for the stars. However, adventure also requires us to use a variety of tools to boost our performance. Last but not least, "T"eamwork is what we are all about!! By working together, these kindergartners are building a love of lifelong learning. Learning requires us to gain knowledge from those around us. Our classroom thrives on G-R-E-A-T opportunities; therefore, pushing these students to become who they are truly meant to be.
My Project
In our classroom, we have Writing Workshop every day. From the beginning of school, we learn how to use our writing tools, such as a writing folder, alphabet chart, word wall, dry erase board, and journal. These students are encouraged to use their writing tools to create their own narrative stories, nonfiction, opinion, how to, and persuasive pieces. This year I am including a writing station during our Reading Workshop as well. Reading and writing go hand in hand. These students will have double writing exposure on a daily basis. The totes will help the students to organize their materials and use them independently during both Writing and Reading Workshop. They can grab their tote, find a comfy spot, and dive into their writing.
