Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have the biggest hearts. They are funny and silly at times and that brings a smile to everyone. They show respect for adults and other students. They are willing to help one another and show that they are ready to learn. I would love my team to give each student that extra support to take home more school materials and use them in both places when we return to school. My students look forward to coming to school and learning different strategies while we practice fun hands-on activities. We have students from different grade levels that join our group and they look forward to returning to class and socializing with their peers.

My Project

Right now, the financial literacy materials are ideal for the children to practice adding and subtracting using their arithmetic skills. My students will be able to identify pennies, dimes, nickels, and quarters, and bills. They will have fun while learning about money, and how it is important to count each currency before spending. Early on in life, children require a strong foundation in order to build responsible economic habits. The gameboards and flash cards that identify the value of money are very helpful for students that struggle to understand and will learn through visuals.
