Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Our mantra states that "we aim to prepare all scholars for high student achievement, college readiness and global citizenship." By having a 3D printer, we could help our students prepare to achieve high goals in college.
We are a Level 4 (failing), Title 1 school in a small city.
The entire district is 100% free and reduced lunch. This doesn't stop my students. They are smart kids who need a challenge. They crave consistency and trust, and there are teachers ready to spend extra time after school, trust them with technology, and guide them to the skills they will need after graduation. The game club students are already interested in this type of technology, but they have no access to it. They're ready to learn; we just need the tools.
My Project
Students will be able to write programs to build models, robots, and other small projects for class assignments and for competitions. This can also factor into creating items for the school store. The ultimate goal will be for students to earn robotics badges through CS2N and compete, therefore making their resumes and skill set appealing to colleges and the job market. We will be a 1-to-1 school in a few years, and this will give some students a jump on that knowledge. This will also help us create projects built around technology.
This project wouldn't just improve one classroom.
This project would improve our entire student population. By having access to a 3D printer, our students will be able to do more than theorize. They will be able to actually create.
More than half of students from low‑income households
