This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My eager fourth graders are from Massachusetts. They all come to school with smiles on their faces but have very different learning styles and needs. Many students in my classroom face challenges on a daily basis. These students range from special education students to students learning English for the first time. Many of these children come from high poverty neighborhoods. School is their safe place. My class loves to work with one another and they love to meet in places all around the room, not necessarily sit in their seats all day. They love to participate in activities that engage their bodies and their minds. They love to learn with technology and as their teacher, I love to think outside of the box.
My Project
The world we live in is now surrounded by technology. My students need to practice the skills that they will need to become successful in the real world. Adding these Chromebooks to my classroom would allow students to practice typing skills, listen to books online, play educational games that can advance their reading and mathematical skills, as well as complete research.
Every student deserves the chance to be successful.
Many of the students in my school do not have access to technology at home, therefore it is important that these skills are able to be taught and practiced at school.
