Help me give my students a comfortable place to read, reflect and do homework. The carpet, cushions and shelf will create a reflective space for students. I run an intervention room, the students struggle to sit all day.

My Project

As a high school teacher running an intervention room, I am requesting funding for a vacuum, rug, bookshelf, and floor cushions to create an inviting, comfortable, and focused space for students to engage in reading, reflection, and homework. These items will significantly enhance the learning environment by fostering a sense of calm and focus. The rug will provide a cozy, designated area for students to read and reflect, while the floor cushions will encourage comfortable seating, enabling students to relax and engage more deeply with their work. The bookshelf will allow students easy access to a variety of reading materials, which will inspire them to explore new interests and improve their literacy skills. Finally, the vacuum will ensure the space remains clean.

The goal of this project is to provide a safe and nurturing space where students can focus on their academic growth without distractions.

Many of the students in my intervention room face academic and personal challenges that make traditional classroom settings difficult for them. By offering a dedicated space for independent learning, I aim to help them build confidence in their abilities and develop essential skills in reading, writing, and reflection. This environment will also promote mindfulness and self-regulation, helping students manage stress and stay focused on their homework and assignments.

What makes my students special is their resilience and determination. Despite facing various obstacles, they demonstrate a strong desire to succeed and improve. They often require additional support and a different approach to learning, which is why providing a comfortable, flexible space tailored to their needs will have such a profound impact on their academic performance and emotional well-being. By creating a space where they feel supported and encouraged, I am confident that these students will thrive and reach their full potential.
