Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every year, our school creates a "Dragon Festival," a school fair for teachers and students. Each class has a booth where they educate other students about important topics. In this case, my students have been learning about sea turtles, how they are quickly becoming extinct, and what we can do to help conserve the species.

This event allows students to be the teachers.

To motivate students to participate, they will be creating sea turtle designs using online software that they will be able to print and use a heat press to add their designs to canvas bags and tumblers. This allows them to apply creative design concepts to tangible objects and foster hands-on learning while incorporating elements of art, science, and technology. Students also want a raffle for all students who come to their booth to learn about sea turtles. We need raffle tickets and sea turtle stuffed animals to give away as prizes.

Students are really looking forward to this event and really want to make educating their peers about the conservation of sea turtles fun and engaging.
