Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a STEAM magnet center and we provide integrated curriculum that integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics. Our school is a Title I school where all students qualify for free lunch and come from low-income families. Regardless of circumstances, my students are eager to learn and reach their academic goals. Making sure my students have the materials they need for things like, Engineering and STEAM, has been a struggle. These interactive white boards will help me provide learning experiences that will help my students comprehend big concepts and will make learning them more effective and fun. My students enjoy hands on and kinesthetic learning. Providing these whiteboards for them to use in their home setting, would allow for daily opportunities for them to engage through out the day and easily share their ideas and thinking.

My students love learning and need interactive white boards to use during our virtual learning lessons!

They are first graders and need to be involved in the learning process in order to stay attentive and focused. The interactive white boards will allow me to check for student understanding, assess students on the spot and allow them to share their mathematical reasoning.

My Project

These interactive white boards will make a big difference in the way I am able to teach my virtual lessons. At the moment is is difficult to ask students a question and get them all to respond at the same time. With virtual learning, one students speaks and explains at a time and then another agrees or disagree. With these white boards, I will be able to ask my students a question during reading comprehension class and they will all be able to show me with their white boards. During Phonics time, I will be able to ask "How do you spell the word "XXXX" and they will all show me at the same time. I can do the same when solving math word problems or computations. This will help me gather information in regards to who in understanding the lesson and who needs extra support. I am so excited because I know my kids with love this interactive white board and they will make such a great impact in their learning experience and journey.
