My Students

My students are my life! For me, making their lives better and more enriched is my passion! We live in the urban city of Charlotte, and I have students of every kind. The diversity is amazing. We have students of all races, religions, and socioeconomic statuses.

My students are scholars!

Often, I get visitors observing my class, and they see a variety of things happening such as me standing on desks, singing, dancing, experiments, stations, collaborative group work, or students teaching other students. My students have a thirst for knowledge, and they always strive to fly higher than the rest! We are Ravens!

My Project

It is my goal as a teacher to make learning as interactive as possible! I feel that when the students, not only hear or read, science but experience and interact with it true learning occurs. The ear is such a small, yet important part of the body that I teach. With this large model, students will get to see, touch, and feel the parts. The part of this project that I am most excited about is the microphone.

In my class, I feel students should be heard!

When having academic discussion students will stand and speak into a microphone, which will project their voice. There will be more buy-in for students standing and speaking. The more the students use it; the more they will learn through academic discussion. Also, standing and speaking with the microphone will also help build confidence.

The rockets are for the 'Mad Science Club'! I try to bring science to a new exciting level and I think rockets are the key! I feel watching the rockets race to the sky will make their passion for science sore!
